Maldivian Democratic Party presidential candidate President Mohamed Nasheed arrived in New Delhi today in his current visit to India. President Nasheed is due to meet senior officials of the Indian government during the trip.

President Nasheed will meet Indian Finance Minister H.E. Mr. P. Chidambaram this afternoon to discuss the state of the Maldivian economy. In addition, President Nasheed will also meet Indian External Affairs Minister H.E. Mr. Salman Khursheed to discuss bilateral relations between India and the Maldives as well as the upcoming presidential election.

President Nasheed met Maldivians living in Trivandrum at a function last night.
